TELUS Digital: Common Mistakes and Rejection Reasons to Avoid

These are the specific, verifiable mistakes we found in TELUS Digital's own listings and application flow — not generic 'try harder' advice.

Mistake 1: Applying to Multiple Similar Roles

TELUS Digital states explicitly that applying to multiple similar roles at once can hold you out of consideration for others in that family until the first resolves. Applying broadly to hedge your odds can backfire here.

Mistake 2: Skipping the Provided Guidelines

Every role we verified provides exam guidelines and learning materials in advance. Attempting the exam without reading them thoroughly is the most avoidable mistake on this list.

Mistake 3: Applying Above Your Real Qualification

The PhD Data Partner tier genuinely requires a completed doctorate — no exception. Applying without one wastes your one application slot in that family. Be honest with yourself about which of TELUS Digital's three verified tiers actually matches your background.

Mistake 4: Applying on the Wrong Career Site

TELUS Digital runs two separate hiring pipelines — telusinternational.ai/opportunities for AI Community freelance work, and jobs.telusdigital.com for regular employment. Applying on the wrong one won't get you the freelance work most remote-work seekers are looking for.

Mistake 5: Ignoring Device Requirements

The Ads Assessor role specifically requires a smartphone capable of running a barcode-scanner app, alongside broadband internet and a PC with antivirus software. Confirm your hardware meets a role's stated requirements before applying, not after.

Final Thoughts

None of these mistakes are about luck — they're about reading TELUS Digital's own stated rules carefully before you apply.
