Remote JobsTELUS Digital PhD Data Partner: Is This Role Right for You?
Read guideIf TELUS Digital's beginner-tier Ads Assessor role (covered in our [dedicated guide](/articles/telus-digital-personalized-ads-assessor-guide)) isn't enough of a match for your background, the Prompt-Response Writer tier is the natural next step up — better pay, but a real academic bar to clear.
What the Role Involves
You develop, write, and curate high-quality prompts and detailed written responses within a specific academic domain — the listing we verified was in Architecture — to build training datasets for visual and language AI models. This is original writing work, not evaluation.
Who Qualifies
TELUS Digital opens this to senior university students or teaching assistants in the relevant subject, or recent graduates. A Master's or PhD in progress is described as 'a plus,' not a requirement — this genuinely sits between the no-experience Ads Assessor tier and the PhD-only Data Partner tier.
Which Subjects Are Covered
We verified an Architecture-domain listing specifically. TELUS Digital's broader Domain-Expert project family (which overlaps with this role type) spans subjects including Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Medicine, Mechanical Engineering, and Energy/Power — apply within whichever subject genuinely matches your academic background.
Application & Exam
Apply through a specific listing at telusinternational.ai/opportunities. You'll need to pass a subject-specific qualification exam (a short test proving you can do the task correctly before you start), with guidelines provided beforehand, plus ID verification. No interview stage was stated on the listing we reviewed.
Pay
$10/hour, per the listing we verified. That's roughly triple the entry-level Ads Assessor tier's estimated rate, reflecting the real subject-matter writing skill this role requires.
Tips to Get Hired
Final Thoughts
This role rewards genuine academic writing ability in a specific subject over general AI knowledge. If you're a strong writer with real standing in your field, it's a meaningfully better-paid option than TELUS Digital's entry tier.
