Map EvaluationIndia Address Accuracy Guidelines for Map Evaluation
Read guideAutocomplete and Task Search 2.0 both involve search intent, but they evaluate different moments in the user journey. This article is prepared by the TTA Academy Editorial & Training Team, specialists in map evaluation, search relevance and qualification preparation.
The central difference
Autocomplete reviews a suggestion offered before the user finishes or submits a query. Task Search 2.0 reviews an actual result returned after a search. A suggestion can be useful because it helps complete the user’s intention; a returned result must also stand up to deeper checks such as entity identity, address accuracy and pin placement.
How to review autocomplete
Read the characters already entered, identify the likely completion and consider whether the suggestion is geographically and semantically plausible. Do not assume the most famous place is always intended. The current map context, user context and explicit location text may change the expected suggestion.
How to review Task Search 2.0
Begin with relevance, then verify the result name, category, address hierarchy and pin. A relevant business with an incorrect pin can still require a pin-specific negative rating. Keep each component independent and support it with credible evidence.
Quick decision framework
For autocomplete, focus on completion quality, intent and geographic fit. For Task Search 2.0, focus on whether the returned entity satisfies the query and whether its factual attributes are accurate. In both cases, explicit query information normally outweighs assumptions.
