Is TELUS Digital's AI Community a real, official program?

Yes — it's TELUS Digital's own freelance data/AI-training marketplace, run at telusinternational.ai, separate from the company's regular employee careers site.

Do I need experience to apply?

Depends on the role. Roles like Personalized Internet Ads Assessor explicitly require no prior professional experience. Others, like PhD Data Partner, require a specific advanced degree. Check the individual listing.

Will I have to take an exam?

Every role we checked required a qualification exam (subject-specific and/or language) plus ID verification before you can start. Guidelines are provided in advance.

How much does TELUS Digital's AI Community pay?

It varies enormously by role — typical ranges run from about $3.50/hr up to $25/hr for most categories, with some flat-fee voice-data listings as high as $41.25. Always check the specific listing's stated rate; TTA Academy has not verified pay beyond what's publicly posted.

Is this employment or freelance work?

Freelance/contractor work under a Contractor Agreement — not direct employment with TELUS Digital.

Can I apply from India?

Yes — India has a large, dedicated set of listings, including Hindi-language roles (Personalized Internet Ads Assessor – Hindi, Quality Assurance Rater – Hindi) and English-language 'Prompt Response Writer - India' roles.

Can I apply to more than one role at once?

At least one listing we reviewed explicitly said no — applying to one role in a family holds you out of similar roles until that application resolves. This may not be a blanket platform-wide rule; check each listing's own terms.

What equipment do I need?

For the Ads Assessor role specifically: a broadband connection, a smartphone (Android 4.1+/iOS 8+) with a barcode-scanner app installed, and a personal computer with antivirus software. Requirements differ by role — this is not a universal list.

Does TTA Academy have an official partnership with TELUS Digital?

No. This page is independent research compiled from TELUS Digital's own public careers site for informational purposes — TTA Academy is not affiliated with or endorsed by TELUS Digital.

Prompt-Response Writer — TELUS Digital

Last verified: 1 August 2026 · Source: telusinternational.ai/cmp/public/jobs/available/126596

Quick take (TTA Academy's own assessment — not a TELUS Digital claim)

Difficulty: Intermediate
Best suited for: Students (senior/TA level), Career Switchers with a relevant academic background
Who should avoid it: anyone without genuine academic-level writing ability in a specific subject
English level needed: Professional — strong written English is explicitly required
Weekly time commitment: Not stated on this listing

What is this project?

You're writing prompts and the detailed, correct responses to them, inside a specific academic domain — the listing we checked was Architecture, but this role family exists across many subjects. The output becomes training data for visual/language AI models. Think of it as "write a good exam question, then write the model answer" — over and over, at a professional standard.

What would I actually do day to day?

Develop, write, and curate high-quality prompts and responses in your specialist domain.
Collaborate with other contributors to keep datasets relevant and accurate.
Review, analyze, and refine content so tone and guideline-adherence stay consistent.

Requirements

Senior university student or Teaching Assistant in the relevant domain — or a recent graduate. You do not need a PhD for this variant (that's the separate, higher-paying "PhD Data Partner" role).
A Master's or PhD in progress is described as "a plus," not mandatory.
Strong English writing: grammar, clarity, and the ability to explain complex concepts concisely.
Preferred (not required): prior academic research experience, and at least 3 months of previous prompt-writing experience.

Is there an exam?

Yes — a subject-specific qualification exam, with guidelines provided beforehand.

Pay

$10 USD/hour for the domain sampled (Architecture). Other domain variants of this same role family were observed at the same rate, but that's not confirmed as universal across every subject.

Who should apply

Current university students, TAs, or recent graduates in a specific academic subject who write clearly and want meaningfully better pay than entry-level rating work, without needing a full PhD. If you're a domain expert with an advanced degree, the "PhD Data Partner" family (see that article) pays more for a similar underlying skill.

How to prepare

TTA Academy's Prompt Engineering Masterclass directly overlaps with the core skill this role tests — writing clear, well-structured prompts and evaluating responses against them.
Practice writing original, multi-step questions in your specific subject with clear, complete solutions — that's literally the job.
