Passing the exam gets you access. This is what keeps you working.
Once you're on a live project, your ongoing access — and often your pay tier — depends on quality scores and guideline discipline, not the qualification exam you already passed.
How this actually works
Vendors frequently update production guidelines after you qualify. Re-read them at the start of each new project or batch, not just once during onboarding.
Where a vendor gives sample tasks before live work, they exist to calibrate your judgment to their standard — treat mismatches there as a signal to adjust before real tasks.
Most vendors show a running quality metric. Check it regularly rather than only noticing it after it has already dropped enough to affect your access.
A single unclear guideline you get wrong once is normal. Repeating the same mistake across many tasks because you didn't ask is what actually risks your standing.
Consistent quality on entry-level projects is frequently what unlocks invitations to better-paying, more specialized project types at the same vendor.
- Relying on memory of the qualification exam instead of re-checking current production guidelines
- Ignoring a declining quality score until it's already affected access
- Rushing task volume at the expense of accuracy
- Repeating the same flagged mistake across multiple tasks without asking for clarification
- Assuming informal/beginner-tier habits transfer directly to specialist or domain-expert project types
- Re-read the guidelines whenever a vendor updates them, not just once at onboarding
- Check your quality/accuracy metrics on a regular schedule, not only when prompted
- Keep a personal note of guideline edge cases you've had to look up more than once
- Ask your vendor's support channel (or us, via Career Consultation) before a small doubt becomes a repeated error
- Treat consistency across a large volume of tasks as more valuable than occasional standout tasks
